How to Pay with Cash (Moneygram)

Moneygram is the only way to pay with cash, and the only method to pay for people that do not have an email address. As far as we know, Walmart is the only location in town currently that offers Moneygram, and they charge $3.95 for a cash payment (much more expensive if you give them a debit/credit card). Here are the instructions–please follow carefully because several tenants have had problems in the past due to not following them exactly. There are three things you need to pay correctly:

  1. OUR ACCOUNT NUMBER: At the Moneygram location, tell them you want to send a “Bill pay” to “Schedule My Rent – 16447″.
    1. DO NOT tell them you want to send a Moneygram!. Tell them you want to do a Bill Pay!
      1. This is because Walmart reps are usually not trained on Moneygram, and they usually go into the wrong screen, and print you a Moneygram check. If they print you a physical Moneygram check, then they did it wrong.* With “Bill Pay” your cash goes directly into our payment system (ScheduleMyRent). Remember that we no longer accept physical checks/money orders here.
  2. YOUR “SCHEDULEMYRENT” ACCOUNT NUMBER:
    1. This account number is available when you log in to ScheduleMyRent.com, or contact us if you cannot log in.
    2. Important: if you have two or more names on the account, each person has their own account number:
  3. YOUR NAME ON THE CONTRACT EXACTLY AS SPELLED: as spelled on the lease registered in our payment system, ScheduleMyRent—see below.
    1. Note, if you have two or more people listed on your contract, you can use either persons account to pay, however, please be sure to use the correct account number directly to the right of the name as each person has their own account number.   If a friend/family is paying your bill for you, they must still use the name on your contract.

Failure to follow these steps exactly may result in lost payments and may not be reimbursable or credited to your account, therefore, if you have ANY questions, please ask the manager.
